This policy describes how Puzzloid ("the app", "we") handles your information. The short version: the app has no accounts and no sign-in. We collect anonymous usage statistics to understand how the games are played, and Google AdMob serves the ads that keep the app free. That's it.
Your display name, puzzle progress, completion times, streaks and settings are stored locally on your device only. We do not collect, transmit or have access to any of it. Deleting the app deletes this data.
To understand which puzzles people enjoy and where they get stuck, the app sends anonymous usage events to PostHog, our analytics provider โ things like "a daily puzzle was started", "a puzzle was solved in N seconds with N hints", and error reports when something in the app breaks. These events include basic device information (model, OS version, app version) and a randomly generated identifier; they do not include your name, contacts, precise location, or the content of anything you type. We use this data solely to improve the app and never for advertising. See the PostHog Privacy Policy for how the data is processed.
Puzzloid shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect device information such as advertising identifiers, IP address, coarse location derived from IP, and ad interaction data. This collection is performed by Google under its own policies:
Where required (for example in the EEA and UK), you will be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown, and you can decline โ ads will then be non-personalized. On iOS, tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework only occurs if you allow it when prompted; if you decline, ads are served without cross-app tracking.
If you allow notifications, the app schedules local reminders (for example, when new daily puzzles are available or a streak is at risk). These are generated on your device โ no notification data is sent to any server.
Puzzloid is suitable for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date above.
